At 10:00 a.m. on September 8, 2012, local time in Berlin, the grand ceremony of the Evaluation Conference at Shaolin Kungfu [mobile: shàolín gōngfu kǎo gōng dàhuì 少林 功夫 考 功 ξεκίνη] began, held at the U Conference and Exhibition Center Berlin. The Evaluation Session is part of the European Shaolin Cultural Festival [mob .: ōuzhōu shàolín wénhuà jié 欧洲 少林 节 节], and as it is considered to be of great importance and content, the Evaluation attracted more than four hundred competitors, including about four hundred competitors of the Shaolin Temple of Germany, of the Shaolin Cultural Center of Greece, of the Shaolin Cultural Center of the United Kingdom, of the Shaolin Cultural Center of Italy, of the Shaolin Cultural Center of Austria from more than twenty countries to participate in the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by thousands of Shaolin lovers from European countries to enjoy a happy meeting and a wonderful moment. Reverend Abbot Xi Ying Xin [mobile: shìyǒngxìn fāngzhang 方丈 方丈] said, "We want to make friends through martial arts, to promote communication, we want to enhance mutual understanding, to a common progress and improvement." Shortly afterwards, His Eminence Xi Ying Sin officially announced the opening of the Synod.
There were three places for the competition, where adults, teenagers and children, men and women competed, in overalls with bare hands and overalls with weapons. The youngest of the participants was 3 years old and the oldest was 67 years old. In addition, people with disabilities could also attend. Upon completion of the evaluation, Sevasmios awarded the commemorative prizes to the team leaders, as well as the gold medals. Chen Jianyang, Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Berlin, and Guozhi Guo, Deputy Director General of the Office of Religion in Honan Province, presented the silver medals together.
At 8:00 pm on the same day, the Shaolin monks presented a magnificent Shaolin Kung Fu spectacle and the Evaluation Session came to an end.
