On February 19, 2015, the Spring Festival is celebrated, that is the equivalent New Year in China, based on the Lunar Calendar. This year is the Chinese Year of the Sheep. The Chinese year of the Sheep is characterized by peace, harmony and marks a period of prosperity. The Chinese celebrate the return of the earth to life and the beginning of a new period.
It is considered the appropriate time for family reunion with their loved ones and participation in customs and traditions, which are designed to bring luck, health and joy for the next 12 months.
It is a great honor and privilege, as General Manager of the Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization to address this short festive greetings to all Students, Masters and friends of Shaolin in Greece.
2014 was a great year for the Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization, with the implemented Act "Acquaintance with the Internal Arts of Shaolin", a series of training sessions, completed successfully, the participation of our students in the 5th Cup of South Greece "Olympio", in the 3rd International & 9th National Martial Arts Festival, in the 3rd International & 7th National Cup "Mygdonia", in the 5th Isthmian Martial Arts Cup in the 3rd Martial Arts Festival of Nemea LEON and every event that we were invited to present Shaolin Culture and Chinese culture.
We organised the 1st Shaolin Culture Festival in Nafplio with the cooperation of the Greek Shaolin Federation and the participation of 200 martial arts athletes from the top 15 schools in Greece, and the stunning dance performance "One Step" in Kallithea. We were present at the 2nd European Shaolin Culture Festival in London, where our students had the opportunity to become acquainted with masters and students of Shaolin from China and other European countries, but also to talk with the Venerable Abbot of Shaolin, Master Shi Yongxin.
The Shaolin Culture is Universal and I am happy that the Greek Shaolin Cultural Organization, is part of this Culture and contributes to his proper spread.
I wish you for 2015 to travel ... to the worlds you have dreamed, to the worlds that are life expectancy.
